I have been wanting to go on a alloy Wheel training course for some time now. Before making a decision I decided to first speak to all the big players in the industry that offer the training and make a decision from there. After a couple of Conversations with Martin on the phone I knew that’s where I wanted to go. Well last week I attended the alloy wheel training course he offers and I can confirm it was well worth it and i thoroughly enjoyed the 3days I had with him so much so I’ve booked another course with him while I was there, so I’ll be going back in a couple of months to do alloy wheel colour changes, bumper plastics and restore head lights. The training is very thorough and detailed and was well explained and easy to understand. Martin has a wealth of knowledge in the industry witch he shares during the training and also gives business advice witch I found very beneficial. All round top bloke and a great training course, needless to say I would highly recommend his training courses to anyone!

Well what can I say overall brilliant course! This course was challenging in areas but very rewarding. The standards of work you will be achieving after is that of a professional level with little or no knowledge of training aspects before starting the course. It is without a doubt an art and Martin the training assessor teaches it as such.I would recommend this course too anyone at any level I will also be looking at the more advanced courses for myself further on in my career.I want too thank Martin for such a brilliantly teached course and some of the tips and tricks are priceless only achieved over years of experience you won’t get that on an everyday course.

I recently completed the 5 day alloy wheel and bumper course. I checked out several different companies before choosing Martin for my training and I definitely made the right choice. The course was on a one to one basis which was a massive plus, as it enables you to learn at your own pace and the course to be moulded round you. Martin really has a vast wealth of knowledge and is such a patient teacher, not once did i feel rushed or under any pressure.
I now feel i have the confidence and ability to go and put my training into practice in the real world.
Thanks Martin for a thoroughly enjoyable week, I still can’t believe how fast it went.
Best Regards
Ken.

I completed the 5 day alloy wheel and bumper course last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Don’t get me wrong, many of the techniques are challenging and require high levels of concentration and care to do well (like most crafts)-it is no ‘walk in the park’, but the results I was able to produce by the end of the week totally blew me away. I was a complete novice at the start of the week and have no particular gifts either mentally or physically – the results were simply down to great tuition – Martin is patient (he needed to be with me lol) and literally knows the industry inside out. The results he can produce (and enable trainees to produce) would make most bodyshops jealous let alone rival smart repair firms. I recommend without hesitation

Hi Martin, thank you for taking the time to train me in the 5 day paint and alloy course. I’ve come away confident that after a bit of practice I will be confidently repairing customers wheels and bumpers in no time.
The course itself was fantastic and progressed at a pace suited for me. From the first day learning to use the tools to the final day confidently painting and prepping like a boss as the young kids now say!
Your expert knowledge was second to none and at no stag…e did you push me into buying any products, in fact you saved me money by suggesting i buy what i need to practice and slowly progress with my purchases and van build as i move along with my skills. Its a great feeling knowing that you are on the end of the phone when needed ( im sure we will be speaking soon enough)! The journey home wasn’t to clever (bloody M20) but the surprise strongbow left in my bag sorted that out when i finally arrived home. Once again thankyou for a great week, ive not only gained a new skill set but also a friend. All the best Simon.
PS your not having my Awning i know your jealous lol.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the training you gave me. I found your teaching style to be relaxed but at the same time the amount of information and skills passed on was immense. I never would have thought I could have achieved so much in such a short space of time. Having had a lifelong interest and hobby in this field I am truly looking forward to making a career out of it, all thanks to you. Please pass on my thanks to your good lady wife for the terrific food supplied whilst on the course too. I am so looking forward to coming back on some advanced courses in the not too distant future. TOP quality, one to one training from a VERY knowledgeable, skillful and truly genuinely nice guy. Thank you.

William Thacker (Billy) – I have been looking to do a smart repair course all over the internet and anyone who also wants to do the same, knows there are a ton out there for juicy prices & not a very personal touch. I came across Martins site & immediately found what I needed – a one to one tutorial.
After finishing a weeks course with Smart Repair Training – I have left a very happy man!
Martin is a fantastic teacher, patient when required, tailors the course to your needs & has given me the confidence that I need. I will stay in touch with Martin & feel I can call him for support when needed. I can’t thank you enough & highly recommend Martins services.

Hi Martin
Thanks again for the training, I’m still jabbering on to anyone that will listen to how good it was!! Please see below my testimonial for you to use at your leisure.

‘I spent a VERY long time researching companies who could offer me Smart repair training and decided to use Martin from Smart Repair Training, let me tell you why…. Following on from a conversation with Martin, where he asked me as many questions as I had of him, I knew he would be amazing and I was absolutely right!! I have just finished a 5 day paint and Alloy wheel course and have not only acquired the skills to start my own Smart repair business but have had the time of my life and made a new friend in the process. Martin is a natural trainer! He has a way that brings out the very best in you and fills you with confidence. I found the course to be extremely thorough and Martin often had answers to questions, before I had the chance to ask them – spooky!’

‘Day one went straight into it with no lost time, in fact everyday was filled to the maximum with not a moment wasted, no fluff, no padding things out, just full on tips, tricks and techniques to get you up to speed.’

‘I had no previous experience of the trade and had not even held a spray gun before, so things were going to pretty tough for Martin – or maybe not… He knew exactly how to get the best out of me and was very patient when explaining things. Some parts of the training went straight in and others needed a bit more work but Martin knew exactly how to control the speed of the training and either pushed on or held back in the right amounts, to
take me from not knowing a thing about how it all worked, to being able to produce some stunning work, even if I do say so myself!’

‘If you are considering learning this skill, you will do well to find someone better than Martin, I am sure of that!’

Thank you once again Martin,

Best wishes

Chris French Canterbury

Hi Martin
I would like to thank you for having me for the five day alloy course. Prior to attending I had looked into several companies offering training and despite Martin been furthest away decided that streetsmart was by far the best, I wasn’t wrong! It is a pleasure to meet someone that sets the bar high with his standards and also his work ethics. I was a total novice, having never even held a spray gun before I came away with the ability to carry out a full alloy repair. I would recommend Martin’s to anyone thinking of getting in the trade,he is highly skilled, knowledgeable and very patient. Having a one-on-one tutor meant I got all the support I needed and gave me confidence to ask questions something I wouldn’t have done sat in a classroom. Thank you to Julie for the pack up every day and again thanks to Martin, I hope to catch up with you soon.

WOW! Just completed a week’s intensive training course with Martin at ‘Smart Repair Training’ and I can honestly say that he is not only a really friendly and easy person to get on with but a very knowledgeable and excellent trainer.
The amount of time and effort he puts in to your training is exceptional and I was there until at least 7.00 – 7.30pm most nights. Martin really wants you to succeed in your new business venture – what other company would do this?
I will definitely be back for the advanced training course once I have perfected my skills.
If you are thinking of going on a smart repair course, I would strongly suggest you choose this one!!

Simply put, Martin is a phenomenal trainer. Whether you are just starting out or are looking for advanced techniques, there’s no substitute for one-2-one with him where you’ll be taught as fast as you can absorb!
No question is too daft, no mistake is a disaster, and you’ll find both encouragement and positivity by the bucket load.
You’ll be ‘hands on’ and gaining the experience you need to ultimately be confident in providing what you genuinely know is a top quality service to your customers.
As a trainee, you become a member of Martin’s extended ‘family’ as he’s always there for you. Encounter a weird paintwork issue, a tricky looking repair, feel like you want to take on a complicated job but not sure…… he’s available to help you work it through. Many a time he’s had a call from me ‘Martiiiiiiiiin’. Hahahahaha.
Quality training by pretty humble guy who really is a true Master of the art means you’ll have standards to aspire to, you’ll be doing jobs to a higher standard than those ‘classroom trained guys’ and ultimately be gaining a reputation for precision that gets you precious recommendations.

A brilliant guy, nicest you’ll ever meet, and if he can train me from scratch, he can train you too!

Is this course for you? Well if you want to start or push your Smart Repair business in the right direction then look no further. After 20yrs in the military I was astonished at the professional structure and delivery of this expansive 5 day course. Martin is a truly extraordinary Instructor passing on over 35yrs experience of panel beating, spraying and SMART repairs. His intensive one on one courses ensure that you as the trainee are subject to a meticulous delivery of superb quality training. Martins unrivalled eye for attention to detail is levels above competition outlets for courses of a similar nature. His ability to demonstrate top level skills in ALL areas instils huge confidence in his teaching methods.

You would think that that is enough to entice you in to his courses, but add in his infectious character, enthusiasm and ability to make taking in huge amounts of 24 Carat gold information a joy then there’s no wonder why there’s a waiting list!!

His courses are tailored to individuals without them even knowing, the pace of the course is generated by the students reception of information and training is stopped in its tracks if anything needs to be revisited. Coupled with Business advice and little gems of information from within the trade this is a COMPLETE course.

I left this course 100% satisfied with confidence to push my business in the right direction. As soon as I have honed the skills taught to me by Martin I will undoubtedly be booking straight back in for advanced courses asap.

Final note…Come to this course with enthusiasm and a notion for some long days and graft and you will walk away a more intelligent person!!

Just back from an advanced training course. Just FAB…. Martin is GREAT. Cannot recommend him enough. Martin is really enthusiastic and is keen to pass on all his little snippets of information, he offers support and follow up advice which he doesn’t charge for. He will suggest the best products to use based on cost & performance and he is not trying to sell you anything….. He is passionate about what he does – training.

Just home from five days training with Martin and can honestly say I found the course brilliant. Martin is extremely Knowledgeable and a great teacher constantly pumping information in to your head. I’ve left feeling confidant but I know what I’ve to work on he’ll let you know your strong and weak points no bs. Just a Pity I wasn’t there longer but there’s always the advanced training. Great to know that you’re only a phone call away too if i ever have a problem I overheard a few phone calls throughout the week when people rang for advice I’ll be back over at some stage to pick your brain cheers Martin

Ryan Smith, Northern Ireland

First I would like to say I flew over from Northern Ireland straight to gatwick and then got a train from the airport straight to Kent which my hotel was straight across from the train station so that was handy and also Martin collected me every morning from my hotel then 2 minutes and we were at are workplace .. It has been a pleasure working with you I didn’t no wat too expect but the week flew in and I learned so much and I have been buzzing ever since I’ve left rareing to go with my own smart repair . You took it seriously which I appreciated but also had a laugh and was good fun . What I have learned within 5 days was incredible and would just like to advise anyone else if they are traveling a long distance or have to fly over that you will be ever so glad you done it and wish u had the bottle and done it sooner .. U also taught me not just the practical side of the business u also taught me how to deal with customers and what to say or buy or basically how to get that top quality professional buisness goin .. Martin I could go on and on but it will take up far too much room if u wish too post this .. So it’s been a pleasure Martin and thankyou i will keep in touch.

Frank Buddle, Exeter, Devon

Martin is an excellent teacher with a great deal of knowledge to pass on which he does in a way that makes it easy to learn the craft I thoroughly enjoyed my week learning new skills that i hope to put to good use very soon. Martin is easy to get on with and puts you at ease with his no nonsense approach would recommend anyone thinking about training with him to go for it

Jamie Milne, Aberdeen

Hey Martin,

Just a short note to thank you again for the training, I’m so glad I chose yourcourse, as the one to one was exactly what I total beginner like myself required. The information and guidance you gave me has given me the confidence to take the plunge myself.

Thanks again.

Ryan Pillay, Guildford, Surrey

Just completed 5 day paint and alloy course. Had a great week and having no paint experience at all I was taught everything I would need to know to achieve top quality repairs. Martin was very honest and genuine, and being independent he did not try to sell me or sign me up for anything. Which makes a change! Would definitely recommend this course to anyone considering smart repair as its 1 to 1 training and you actually do the repair, instead of watching someone else do their jobs for the day.
Thanks

Gordon, Kerry, Ireland

Hi Martin

Before making the decision to make the journey from Ireland to do your 3 day Alloy Wheel Refurb Course I read the testaments page of your website. This is what swung it for me – this many people couldn’t be wrong – they weren’t. I would like to reiterate everything that people have said on your site. Your knowledge of your trade is unsurpassable, your attitude to training refreshing and your approach to the task in hand, (that of training someone like me with no previous experience), was spot on. It was all done in such a positive and entertaining way that the hours tended to fly by! A big thanks for overdelivering on what I expected from this course. I have learned a lot in a short space of time and laid the foundations for a skill that I will always have. Best wishes for the future.

(Travel back went fine thanks and was back at work yesterday to face the music. Thanks for your comments and encouragement. Make sure and look me up when you make that long overdue visit to the Republic and we could go for a few pints! I am sure we will be in touch before that in any case. My plan right now is over the next 7-8 weeks to get my garage set up properly. Then into Feb when I plan on purchasing the equipment. March, April, May will be practice, June will be hols then July on hope to starting turning my work into cash!!)

Mikey Gemmell, Edinburgh

I recently attended the 5 day paint and alloy course. I had never held a

spray gun in my life prior to this course yet by the end of the week I felt comfortable enough to go out on my own and carry out this type of job. There is a lot to take in on the course but it somehow all comes together as the course goes on. I travelled down from Scotland and Martin couldn’t have been more helpful recommending B&Bs and picking me up each morning from the hotel. The lunches were fantastic and I am now a fully fledged Cornish pasty fan.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the course and would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of going on to give Martin a call and go for it. I’m almost certain you wont be disappointed.

Cheers

Jason Bennellick, Yelverton, Devon

Hi martin just like to say a big thanks for the course you ran for me last week , it was excellent I came away buzzing and ready to go . The good thing about your trainning is it , s stripped right back to the nuts and bolts of it all , and in my opinion thats the only way to learn. Big thanx to julie for dinner each day, hopefully get on top of the wheel game , then be back up same time next year for the paint course once again many thanx jay.

Dave Nash, Autosmart Alloys

Martin, What a great course you have here, I was a novice at the start and with your help you have shown that it is possible to start a new career. The 5 day course was great so much knowledge was given, all easy to learn as your teaching skills are second to none. Was made welcome and felt at ease from the moment i arrived.

This is great value for the money paid, and and it’s not just the 5 days you get, as Martin becomes more of a friend then a trainer, and is always willing to help after the course ends. I will be returning later on for a refresher course/the bumper repair course, and the great pasties and lunch 😉

Thanks again Martin was a great week.

Pete Collier, Perth, Scotland

Hi Martin,

Just a quick note to say thank you for an interesting and very informative course. The training as I had hoped was 100% hands on and had a relaxed no pressure feel to it. Once you had made your initial assessment of my current skill set you tailored the course to tighten up on any weak areas, this was a great confidence booster and extremely good value for money. Once again, cheers buddy.

Davey Garrett, WheelRight in County Durham

Hi Martin,

I wanted to thank you for the 5 day alloy wheel training course you took me through last week.

Having no previous experience in alloy wheel repair and in particular spray painting, I feel you had your work cut out with me. However, your mannerism, skill and knowledge not just in alloy wheel repair and training but in equipment and setting up business has given me a very good skill base and some very good tips in setting up as a mobile alloy wheel repairer.

I am pleased I choose you to train me in alloy wheel repair as I feel I have gained a lot from your training and from the advice and tips you gave me.

Again thanks to your wife for some splendid food during the course.

Thanks again

Martin has a vast amount of knowledge with regards training and setting up a smart repair and alloy wheel refurb business.
I completed my training with Martin back in 2014 and within a few months of returning home to the Northeast my idea and dream was turned into a business.
Martin has been constantly available to give advice from the moment I completed my training and we still keep in contact today even though my business is now well established Martin is always at hand if I require advice (its a great comfort blanket).
Thanks Martin
